I also have a library of 35k+ photos with many of them in RAW format. I do have a home installed solid state hard drive ( a home made fusion drive) and so maybe that's something. I upgraded the RAM to maybe help the problem and I was finally able to get it through a full repair cycle, but oddly enough, it didn't work.
